Alice ISD had the highest enrollment among Jim Wells County districts, with 4,297 students during the 2024-25 school year, according to the Texas Education Agency.
Of all students enrolled in the 2024-25 school year, 50.4% were boys, and 49.6% were girls.
Data also showed that most of the students were Hispanic, representing 91.3% of the Alice ISD total enrollment.
Among the five districts in Jim Wells County, Orange Grove ISD ranked second in enrollment numbers with 1,648 students, while Premont ISD enrolled 794 students and ranked third in the 2024-25 school year.
Alice ISD roughly covers schools within Jim Wells County with its main office in Alice.
In the previous school year, Alice ISD also had the largest number of students among Jim Wells County districts.
Texas has the nation’s second-largest K-12 public school system, serving about 5.5 million students with a student-to-teacher ratio of roughly 15:1.
