Congressman Michael Cloud, representing Texas’ 27th district since 2018, recently shared his thoughts on various national matters through a series of tweets. Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 1975 and residing in Victoria, Cloud has been an active voice in Congress following his graduation from Oral Roberts University with a BS in 1997.
On May 12, 2025, Congressman Cloud expressed support for President Trump amidst political challenges. He stated “Anytime you’re doing something worthwhile, you’re going to get pushback.” He further commented that while the journey may not be easy, he believes the American people support the president’s efforts to guide the country onto a better path.
Later that day, Cloud celebrated the return of Edan Alexander after being held by Hamas for over a year and a half. In his tweet posted at 20:44 UTC, he mentioned “After 584 days in the hands of Hamas, Edan Alexander is finally home.” The congressman expressed gratitude for Alexander’s safe return and offered prayers for the family’s healing process.
In recognition of National Police Week on May 12th at 22:04 UTC, Congressman Cloud honored law enforcement officers who risk their lives daily. He tweeted “This National Police Week, we honor the heroes who put their lives on the line to protect our communities.” His message acknowledged their courage and dedication without seeking praise.
Michael Cloud has been serving Texas’ constituents since replacing Blake Farenthold in Congress seven years ago.
