U.S. Congressman Michael Cloud, currently serving Texas’ 27th District since 2018 and a graduate of Oral Roberts University, has recently taken to social media to express his perspectives on federal regulations and policies. Known for his conservative stance, Cloud voiced his opinions across several matters of national discourse in a set of three tweets posted on April 7, 2025.
In one post made at 01:59:48 UTC on April 7, 2025, Congressman Cloud criticized the federal government for growing its bureaucracy through “countless ‘studies’ that seem uncontroversial,” suggesting these initiatives are used by left-wing groups to increase government size at taxpayers’ expense.
Later in the day, Congressman Cloud shared another tweet at 20:41:28 UTC, expressing support for the decision by FBI Director Kash to shut down “backdoor efforts to build a federal firearms registry,” citing a threat to American privacy and Constitutional Second Amendment rights.
In a subsequent tweet at 22:41:47 UTC, Cloud stated his criticism of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, claiming they are about control rather than unity. He announced the introduction of the Dismantle DEI Act, intended to make permanent a prior executive order by President Trump aimed at ending what Cloud calls “radical DEI programs.”
