Congressman Michael Cloud, who has represented Texas’ 27th district since 2018, recently shared his thoughts on various political matters via social media. Cloud, who replaced Blake Farenthold in Congress and holds a degree from Oral Roberts University, often voices his opinions on national issues.
On May 14, 2025, Congressman Cloud expressed disappointment with Chief Justice John Roberts for criticizing President Trump. He suggested that the Chief Justice should concentrate on judicial responsibilities instead of political commentary. “I was disappointed with Chief Justice Roberts for taking issue with President Trump instead of focusing on the real work needed in his own branch,” he tweeted. He also mentioned disbarment of Trump’s lawyers while other legal figures such as Jack Smith and Letitia James remain unchallenged.
Later that day, Congressman Cloud commented on the use of the song “YMCA” as an anthem during presidential events. “Who would’ve guessed YMCA would become the international welcome anthem for the President of the United States “, he remarked humorously in a tweet.
On May 16, 2025, Congressman Cloud expressed approval of recent political changes by simply stating: “All we needed was a new President”. This tweet indicates his support for leadership changes at the national level.
Michael Cloud was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1975 and currently resides in Victoria.
