Congressman Michael Cloud, representing Texas’ 27th district since 2018, has recently expressed his views on various national issues through a series of tweets. The Congressman, who succeeded Blake Farenthold and holds a degree from Oral Roberts University, continues to engage with the public on social media platforms.

On May 6, 2025, Congressman Cloud referenced warnings from the intelligence community dating back to 2008 regarding “the greatest transfer of wealth and influence—from West to East—driven by offshored manufacturing and exported energy.” He noted that this was considered an unsolvable issue but commended President Trump and Secretary Scott Bessent for providing “a clear direction” rather than an easy fix.

Later that day, Cloud criticized PBS for airing “Let’s Learn” by drag queen Little Miss Hot Mess amid declining test scores in math, reading, and science. He described the program as “indoctrination” funded by taxpayers and supported President Trump’s decision to defund PBS and NPR.

In another tweet posted on May 6th, he discussed the SHUSH Act which aims to prevent government overreach by treating suppressors like other firearm accessories. He argued that “freedom shouldn’t come with fine print—or a $200 tax.”

Michael Cloud was born in Baton Rouge in 1975 and resides in Victoria. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree obtained from Oral Roberts University in 1997.
