Congressman Michael Cloud, representing Texas’ 27th District since 2018, shared several tweets expressing his views on faith and political issues. Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1975, Cloud resides in Victoria and holds a BS from Oral Roberts University.
On May 4, 2025, Congressman Cloud shared a religious quote on social media: “Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.” This is a verse from Psalms 31:24.
In a tweet dated May 6, 2025, he discussed his experience on the COVID Subcommittee. He remarked on what he described as “reckless gain-of-function research” funded by American tax dollars in unregulated labs. Cloud noted that “President Trump is taking action putting an end to it.”
Later the same day, Congressman Cloud commented on the national debt situation. He highlighted the growing debt nearing $36 trillion and praised the Trump administration’s approach as necessary for change. Citing Albert Einstein, he tweeted “You can’t solve problems with the same kind of thinking you used when you created them.”
Michael Cloud has been serving as a U.S. Congressman since replacing Blake Farenthold in 2018.
