Senator Adam Hinojosa, a Republican elected in 2025 to represent Texas’s 27th Senate district, has recently shared updates on his activities and legislative priorities through a series of posts on social media.
On September 30, 2025, Hinojosa described a meeting with Brownsville’s former mayor Pat Ahumada. He wrote, “Making the rounds in Brownsville today, I had a great meeting with former Mayor Pat Ahumada. Always good to connect with someone who cares deeply about our community and the well being of our pets!”
Later that day, he expressed appreciation for an event hosted by the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce. In his post from September 30, he stated, “Grateful to the @BTxChamber for hosting a wonderful legislative update luncheon. @JanieLopezForTX , @RepErinEGamez , and I had the opportunity to speak with business and local leaders about our ongoing work to deliver for Brownsville, the Rio Grande Valley, and all of South”.
On October 1, Hinojosa addressed concerns regarding safety at religious institutions in Texas. He posted, “With violence targeting communities of faith on the rise, @GregAbbott_TX has directed DPS to strengthen security at churches, synagogues, and religious spaces. We must remain vigilant, work with law enforcement, and safeguard the places where Texans gather to worship.”
Hinojosa succeeded Morgan LaMantia as state senator after winning election in 2025. His recent statements reflect ongoing engagement with local leaders in Brownsville as well as attention to public safety issues affecting communities across his district.
