Enrollment at Banquete ISD schools increased by 0.5% compared to previous school year

There were 859 students enrolled in Banquete ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 0.5% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 50.4% of them were boys, and 49.6% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 84.1% of the Banquete ISD total enrollment.

Banquete ISD roughly covers schools within Nueces County with its main office in Banquete.

Among the three schools in Banquete ISD, Banquete Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 366 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
