There were 1,453 students enrolled in San Diego ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 2.4% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 51.1% of them were boys, and 48.9% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 98.3% of the San Diego ISD total enrollment.

San Diego ISD roughly covers schools within Duval County with its main office in San Diego.

Among the three schools in San Diego ISD, Collins-Parr Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 674 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
