There were four Asian students enrolled in Port Aransas ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 33.3% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Port Aransas ISD schools welcomed 546 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Asian students comprised 0.7% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Port Aransas ISD roughly covers schools within Nueces County and has a main office in Port Aransas.

Among the three schools in Port Aransas ISD schools, Olsen Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of Asian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of three students.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
