There were 12 American Indian students enrolled in Ingleside ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 50% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Ingleside ISD schools welcomed 2,023 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.6% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Ingleside ISD roughly covers schools within San Patricio County and has a main office in Ingleside.

Among the three schools in Ingleside ISD schools, Ingleside High School recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of five students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
