The following day, November 18, 2024, he announced progress on his legislative initiative: "It’s official — the @GOPoversight Committee will mark up my bill, the Dismantle DEI Act, on Wednesday." This bill aims to terminate government Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs by dismantling DEI offices and regulations while promoting a merit-based system.
Later that same day, he reiterated his stance regarding the legislation's importance: "Good—Congress should pass my Dismantle DEI Act to make sure this is the law going forward as well."
