Congressman Michael Cloud, representing Texas' 27th district, has recently shared a series of tweets addressing legislative initiatives and social issues. The congressman, who succeeded Blake Farenthold in 2018, expressed his views on measures related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) as well as gender equality in sports.

On February 5, 2025, Congressman Cloud tweeted about Republican lawmakers' efforts to solidify former President Trump's anti-DEI measures into law. He stated: "GOP lawmakers move to make Trump's anti-DEI measures law."

Later that day, he acknowledged National Girls & Women in Sports Day by tweeting: "Today, we celebrate National Girls & Women in Sports Day. No women should have to lose out on opportunities and have their spaces invaded because of biological males." This statement highlights his stance on the participation of transgender individuals in women's sports.

In another tweet posted on the same day, Congressman Cloud emphasized the need for legislative action to ensure the permanence of President Trump's executive order against DEI mandates. He wrote: "On Day One, President Trump signed an Executive Order to dismantle DEI mandates across the federal government. But executive orders can be undone with the stroke of a pen. That’s why Congress must pass the Dismantle DEI Act—to codify President Trump’s agenda into law and…"
