The congressman, who replaced Blake Farenthold in the U.S. Congress, expressed his views on federal government policies, local community initiatives, and legislative efforts.

On February 8, 2025, Congressman Cloud highlighted President Trump's commitment to eliminating what he described as "un-American DEI ideology" from the federal government. He stated that "It’s clearer than ever—our country is in dire need to rid itself of this divisive ideology." He also mentioned the introduction of the Dismantle DEI Act aimed at addressing these concerns. "Since day one, President Trump has made eliminating un-American DEI ideology from the federal government his top priority."

In another tweet on the same day, Cloud discussed a drought affecting his district and acknowledged community leaders for organizing a prayer event for rain. He announced that Coastal Bend Communities called for a "dedicated day of prayer for rain this Sunday February 9th," and noted their partnership in this initiative. "Drought is a serious threat in our district and we are thankful for our leaders who bring people together in our community to seek Divine intervention."

Later that day, Congressman Cloud tweeted about a bipartisan bill he leads that would require Congress to prioritize debt payments before approving new spending measures.
