Congressman Michael Cloud, who has represented Texas's 27th district since 2018, recently expressed his views on intelligence agencies and government bureaucracy through a series of tweets. Cloud, born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1975 and currently residing in Victoria, shared his thoughts on the current state of U.S. governance and its implications.

On February 12, 2025, Congressman Cloud tweeted about the role of intelligence agencies. He stated that "Our intelligence agencies should work for the American people—not against them." Cloud further urged the Senate to confirm Tulsi Gabbard as President Trump's pick to restore the intelligence community.

Later that day, at 16:15 UTC, Cloud addressed issues related to government oversight and bureaucracy. He commented on what he perceives as an "unconstitutional fourth branch of government" in Washington D.C., which he claims obstructs oversight efforts. He noted that "DOGE is now uncovering the extent of the corruption."

At 16:41 UTC on the same day, Congressman Cloud shared a statement from LexisNexis CEO regarding financial misconduct during the COVID-19 pandemic. The tweet quoted that "'When you think about what happened during the [COVID] pandemic, 1 trillion [American Taxpayer] dollars were stolen.'" The statement highlighted concerns over significant financial losses with much of it allegedly going overseas.
