On March 17, 2025, Congressman Cloud tweeted about a proposal to "prohibit the federal government from canceling current agreements with state and local police agencies unless a solid reason is provided." He emphasized that agencies would have the opportunity to challenge such decisions.
In another tweet posted on the same day, he quoted the National Police Association expressing confidence in a bill's potential impact: "We have confidence that if this bill is passed, it would foster greater cooperation between ICE and local law enforcement agencies, which will ultimately aid in keeping our communities safe."
The following day, March 18, 2025, Congressman Cloud highlighted former President Trump's stance on international diplomacy. He noted that Trump is focused on the lives that could be saved through diplomatic efforts between Ukraine and Russia.
