City of Kingsville issued the following announcement on Nov. 21.
Kleberg County Judge Rudy Madrid and the City of Kingsville Mayor Sam Fugate received confirmation from the Texas Department of State Health Services, Region 11 of 36 additional COVID-19 cases. Eight of these cases are the result of a backlog in reporting and are no longer considered active.
The newly confirmed novel coronavirus case and DSHS adjustment brings our cumulative count in Kleberg County to 1160. To date, there have been 54 COVID-19-related deaths. Texas DSHS is reporting zero individuals removed from isolation today, our confirmed active COVID-19 case count increases by 28 cases to 118. Region 11 is no longer reporting transmission type, but they are reporting pervasive community spread of COVID-19 in our region. All individuals confirmed with active cases are in isolation and will continue to be monitored by Region 11.
Both city and county leaders are stressing the importance of following all CDC guidelines and recommendations. Please remember to socially distance, wear masks when distancing is not possible and frequently wash your hands. Stay home if you feel sick and isolate if you test positive for COVID-19.
