The Corpus Christi Regional Economic Development Corp. (CCREDC) recently announced that audio equipment company Schiit Audio is expanding its operations to the region.
“We are so pleased to welcome the Schiit Audio team to our region,” Iain Vasey, president and CEO of the CCREDC, said. “This is an innovative, niche technology company who chose Corpus Christi to bring their fun but also highly acclaimed high end audio operations. With our great natural environment, our unique coastal lifestyle, low cost of living, short commute times, and welcoming community atmosphere, we will see an accelerated trend of California-based technology companies such as Schiit choosing to move here as an alternative location to other popular tech areas in Texas.”
Schiit Audio plans to purchase a building in Corpus Christi to facilitate its efforts to expand assembly and sales into Texas. This expansion is projected to create approximately 20 full-time jobs in the area.
“I am thrilled that Schiit Audio has chosen Corpus Christi to expand its highly acclaimed high-end audio operations," City Manager Peter Zanoni said. "Our community has shown a desire to grow our tech and innovation community and this expansion signifies that Corpus Christi is a great destination to foster innovation.”
