There were 24,131 students enrolled in Jim Wells County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 14.4% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

At the time, Jim Wells County had the 42nd largest enrollment in the state.

Data also showed that Hispanic students made up 85.6% of the student body, the largest percentage in Jim Wells County schools, followed by white students at 13.3%, Black students at 0.3%, Asian students at 0.3% and multiracial students at 0.5%.
