CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Visit Corpus Christi, the official destination management organization for Corpus Christi, announces the completion of its annual independent organizational audit. Adamson and Company, a leading auditing firm in South Texas, conducted the clean audit. For the fourth year in a row, the audit has resulted in a clean opinion, affirming the organization's commitment to financial integrity and transparency.
A clean opinion is an independent auditor’s judgment that a company or organization’s financial statements are fairly and appropriately represented, without any identified exceptions, and in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) developed by the National Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB).
The successful audit highlights the organization's financial health and its commitment to operating with the utmost integrity, ensuring the organization remains a trustworthy and effective advocate for tourism in Corpus Christi.
"Receiving an unqualified opinion for four consecutive years is no small feat. It underscores our team's dedication to upholding the highest standards of financial stewardship and transparency," said Brett Oetting, President & CEO of Visit Corpus Christi.
Peter Zanoni, City Manager of Corpus Christi and executive board member of Visit Corpus Christi, also weighed in on the achievement. "This clean audit reflects Visit Corpus Christi's robust and effective financial controls. As the City Manager and Visit Corpus Christi board member, it is reassuring to see such consistent financial diligence, which is vital for the organization's credibility. The audit confirms our trust in VCC and its role in showcasing the Coastal Bend to the world."
