On March 5, 2025, Congressman Cloud tweeted about former President Trump's remarks concerning federal government inefficiencies. He stated, "In under 3 minutes President Trump listed over $24.5 BILLION dollars in waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government. Americans have been forced to pay for the demise of their own country, but no more!"
Later that day, Cloud commented on the current administration's stance on immigration compared to the previous one. He noted the shift in approach by stating, "What a night and day difference. Our 47th President condemns illegal aliens and stands with American citizens while the last one apologized to them."
