Congressman Michael Cloud, representing Texas' 27th district since 2018, has recently shared his perspectives on various political issues through a series of tweets. Cloud, who succeeded Blake Farenthold in Congress and holds a degree from Oral Roberts University, discussed topics ranging from executive actions by former President Trump to firearm legislation.

On January 30, 2025, Congressman Cloud commented on the numerous executive actions taken by President Trump during his first week in office. He stated that these actions aimed to "unleash American energy," terminate divisive Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, and secure the nation's borders. Cloud emphasized that this was just the beginning of Trump's efforts. "Over 300 executive actions taken by President Trump in just the first week to unleash American energy, end divisive DEI, and secure our border. This is only the beginning."

Later that day, at 23:15 UTC on January 30th, Congressman Cloud addressed concerns about public trust in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Citing Kash Patel's remarks about leadership failures within the agency resulting in only "40% of Americans" having faith in it, he called for restoring trust so that the FBI could effectively serve citizens again. He also advocated for confirming Patel's appointment.“Only 40% of Americans have trust and faith in the FBI...It is a cataclysmic failure in leadership" - Kash Patel It's imperative trust is restored in the FBI so it can once again serve the people. Confirm Patel!

On January 31st at 14:25 UTC, Congressman Cloud turned his attention to firearm suppressors. He argued that suppressors are beneficial for hearing protection and safety but have been unfairly criticized by Hollywood and Washington D.C. Asserting that law-abiding citizens should not be burdened with additional regulations or taxes for using such safety accessories, he announced collaboration with Senator Mike Lee on introducing the SHUSH Act."Suppressors protect hearing, enhance safety, and reduce firearm noise—yet Hollywood and D.C. have vilified them. Law-abiding Americans shouldn’t face extra red tape and taxes for a safety accessory.@SenMikeLee & I are pushing back with the SHUSH Act!"
