Congressman Michael Cloud, currently serving Texas' 27th District in the U.S. Congress, has shared his thoughts through social media on several pressing issues debated in recent committee hearings. Michael Cloud was elected to Congress in 2018, succeeding Blake Farenthold.

In a tweet dated March 26, 2025, Congressman Cloud criticized the arguments made by NPR and PBS during the day's House Oversight and Accountability Committee hearing, referring to their claims about taxpayer funding. "It’s ironic that at today’s @DOGECommittee hearing, NPR and PBS said they need taxpayer funding to survive but also claimed those funds are too small to impact reporting. Which is it? Either way, taxpayers shouldn't be funding it."

On the same day, Cloud announced the advancement of the Preserving Presidential Management Authority Act, which he stated had passed committee review. The legislation intends to prevent outgoing presidents from enacting politically motivated union contracts during the transition period. "The Preserving Presidential Management Authority Act has passed the committee! This would ensure that outgoing presidents in their final days cannot sabotage the incoming administration by locking in politically motivated union contracts that undermine the will of the voters."

Later, reflecting on the day's committee hearing, Cloud expressed disapproval of NPR's past journalistic decisions, including the coverage of significant political topics. "At today’s @DOGECommittee hearing, NPR’s CEO admitted that they FAILED to cover the Hunter Biden laptop and Covid's lab leak origins. Tragically, it’s an admission that comes 5 years after an election was affected and countless lives were destroyed as they put activism over"
