Graduates earn 2,037 degrees, certificates from Texas A & M University-Kingsville

About 30.3 percent of the 2,037 degrees and certificates handed out by Texas A & M University-Kingsville in 2017-18 were to students in engineering programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Kingsville conferred 350 master's degrees and 230 bachelor's degrees in engineering programs.

But the single most popular program was for a master's degree in general computer and information sciences. Data shows the school gave out 229 master's degrees in general computer and information sciences, followed by 146 master's degrees in electrical and electronics engineering and 98 bachelor's degrees in "other" multi-/interdisciplinary studies.

The university enrolled 8,541 students for 2017-18, including 6,976 in undergraduate programs and 1,565 in graduate programs.
