89 percent of applicants to Texas A & M University-Kingsville were admitted for fall 2018

At Texas A & M University-Kingsville, 89 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 51 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Kingsville enrolled 8,541 students in fall 2018, including 6,976 in undergraduate and 1,565 in graduate programs, data shows. 7.5 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

98 percent of undergraduates are residents of Texas, and 1 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Hispanic or Latino (74 percent) and white (14 percent).

The school admitted 89 percent of the 7,320 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 19 percent enrolled.
