Duval County schools enrollment of gifted and talented students is 150 students in the 2021-2022 school year

Test 02

Duval County schools enrolled 150 students who were identified as being gifted and talented during the 2021-2022 school year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

This is an 11.2% decrease from the previous school year.

Of the 2,472 students enrolled in Duval County schools, 6.1% of them were considered to be gifted and talented.

Duval County enrolled the 131st highest number of gifted and talented students among Texas counties.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

“The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students…dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools…gun violence, and mental health issues,” claimed the Texas Almanac.
