Dr. M.L. Garza-Gonzalez Charter School District Education: 7 white students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were seven white students enrolled in Dr. M.L. Garza-Gonzalez Charter School District in the 2022-23 school year, 75% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Dr. M.L. Garza-Gonzalez Charter School District welcomed 180 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 3.9% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Dr. M.L. Garza-Gonzalez Charter School District roughly covers schools within Nueces County and has a main office in Corpus Christi.

Dr. M. L. Garza-Gonzalez Charter School was the only school in the district which enrolled white students, welcoming seven students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
