London ISD Education: 1,428 students were enrolled in schools in 2021-22 school year

There were 1,428 students enrolled in London ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 11.6% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 50.1% of them were girls, and 49.9% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 51.5% of the London ISD total enrollment.

London ISD roughly covers schools within Nueces County with its main office in Corpus Christi.

Among the four schools in London ISD, London High School recorded the highest enrollment of 466 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
