How many students were enrolled in Orange Grove ISD schools in 2021-22 school year?

There were 1,773 students enrolled in Orange Grove ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 3.4% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 51.9% of them were boys, and 48.1% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 61.5% of the Orange Grove ISD total enrollment.

Orange Grove ISD roughly covers schools within Jim Wells County with its main office in Orange Grove.

Among the four schools in Orange Grove ISD, Orange Grove High School recorded the highest enrollment of 556 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
