There were 1,495 students enrolled in San Diego ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 2.9% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.1% of them were boys, and 48.9% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 98.2% of the San Diego ISD total enrollment.

San Diego ISD roughly covers schools within Duval County with its main office in San Diego.

Among the three schools in San Diego ISD, Collins-Parr Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 729 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
