Driscoll ISD welcomed 287 students in 2022-23 school year

There were 287 students enrolled in Driscoll ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 3.6% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.9% of them were girls, and 48.1% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 92.3% of the Driscoll ISD total enrollment.

Driscoll ISD roughly covers schools within Nueces County with its main office in Driscoll.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
