Enrollment at London ISD schools increased by 10.5% compared to previous school year

There were 1,578 students enrolled in London ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 10.5% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.8% of them were boys, and 49.2% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 54.1% of the London ISD total enrollment.

London ISD roughly covers schools within Nueces County with its main office in Corpus Christi.

Among the four schools in London ISD, London High School recorded the highest enrollment of 507 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
