West Oso ISD Education: 1,929 students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 1,929 students enrolled in West Oso ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 2% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.4% of them were boys, and 49.6% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 87.4% of the West Oso ISD total enrollment.

West Oso ISD roughly covers schools within Nueces County with its main office in Corpus Christi.

Among the five schools in West Oso ISD, West Oso High School recorded the highest enrollment of 575 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
