Enrollment Analysis: white students comprised 12.4% of Ricardo ISD schools' student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 81 white students enrolled in Ricardo ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 11% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Ricardo ISD schools welcomed 655 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 12.4% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Ricardo ISD roughly covers schools within Kleberg County and has a main office in Kingsville.

Among the two schools in Ricardo ISD schools, Ricardo Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 53 students.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
