Agua Dulce ISD schools Education: 3 African American students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were three African American students enrolled in Agua Dulce ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 25% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Agua Dulce ISD schools welcomed 408 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 0.7% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Agua Dulce ISD roughly covers schools within Nueces County and has a main office in Agua Dulce.

Among the two schools in Agua Dulce ISD schools, Agua Dulce Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of African American students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of two students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
