How many African American students were enrolled in Flour Bluff ISD schools in 2022-23 school year?

There were 123 African American students enrolled in Flour Bluff ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 5.4% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Flour Bluff ISD schools welcomed 5,732 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 2.1% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Flour Bluff ISD roughly covers schools within Nueces County and has a main office in Corpus Christi.

Among the seven schools in Flour Bluff ISD schools, Flour Bluff High School recorded the highest enrollment of African American students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 46 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
