On March 11, 2025, Congressman Michael Cloud expressed optimism about spending reforms in Congress. He noted that these changes represent progress: "For the first time since I’ve been in Congress, we’re seeing spending reforms—even if small—which is a step in the right direction. With President Trump leading and DOGE driving reform, they’re making unprecedented savings to the bureaucracy at record speed." He highlighted his dissatisfaction with continuing resolutions.

In his tweet dated March 12, 2025, he called for Congress to codify certain executive orders from former President Trump: "At yesterday’s @RepublicanStudy press conference, we called on Congress to codify Trump Executive Orders." One significant order mentioned was aimed at eliminating DEI initiatives within the federal government through what he refers to as the Dismantle DEI Act.
