U.S. Rep. Michael Cloud from Texas's 27th district | Official U.S. House Headshot
Congressman Michael Cloud, who has been serving Texas' 27th district since 2018, recently shared his views on various topics through a series of tweets. Cloud, originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and a graduate of Oral Roberts University, took to social media to discuss immigration enforcement, religious persecution, and federal policies.
On March 11, 2025, Congressman Cloud commended the efforts of ICE officers in Houston for their recent deportation activities. He stated that "Real work being done by the brave ICE officers @EROHouston. A total of 646 illegal immigrants were deported, 543 had criminal records, including 140 aggravated felons and 34 sex offenders. These individuals are not welcome in America."
Later that day, he expressed concern for Christians facing persecution globally. In his tweet at 17:08 UTC, he urged followers to "Pray for our Christian brothers and sisters in Syria and around the world who are facing persecution."
In another post on March 11 at 20:58 UTC, Cloud criticized federal diversity initiatives. He argued that "Diversity, equity, and inclusion don’t mean what you think they do. The federal government has force-fed these dangerous, Marxist ideologies to agencies—all while being funded by taxpayer dollars." He further advocated for legislative action with the Dismantle DEI Act.
